As we are based in Bristol and our local airport is Bristol Airport any news and features in the aviation media and community is drawn to our attention. The most recent feature about Bristol Airport has been an article about “Bristols Amazing Journey” which can be found in the “Airports of the World” magazine.
The article written by Andy Martin explores the amazing journey Bristol Airport has made and how it has capitalised in the boom in air travel, in particular with low cost carriers. Talking to the airport CEO Robert Sinclair the editor finds out why business is going so well at the West country airport.
The city of Bristol and surrounding areas have been served by aviation since before World War One, with operations at Filton Airport and Whitchurch Airport before the airport was moved from Whitchurch to Lulsgate Bottom after the war. The first commercial aircraft departed Lulsgate Airport on April 15 1957, in 2000 the airport moved into their brand new purpose built airport terminal which has been continually expanded to accommodate larger aircraft and increased passenger numbers.
We encourage you to purchase either the paper based magazine or download the magazine via the app and read more about this fantastic airport located on our very own doorstep.
