Introducing Our New Suggestions Portal

At SpottingLog, we’ve always believed that the best tools for aircraft spotters are the ones built by aircraft spotters. Since we launched in 2016, your feedback has been the engine behind every update—from our smart population database to our enhanced reporting tools.

Today, we are taking that collaboration to the next level.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new Suggestions Area! This dedicated space is designed to give you a direct seat at the development table, allowing you to help prioritise the features you want to see most.

Why a Suggestions Area?

As our community grows, so do the brilliant ideas you share with us via email and social media. We wanted to create a transparent, central hub where those ideas can live, breathe, and evolve. Instead of your feedback disappearing into an inbox, it can now be championed by the entire SpottingLog community.

What can you do in the Suggestions Area?

  • Request New Ideas: Have a vision for a new fleet list feature? Or a tweak to the mobile interface? Submit your ideas directly. No suggestion is too big or too small.

  • Vote on Features: Not sure if anyone else wants a specific “dark mode” or new CSV export option? The community can now vote on suggestions. This helps us understand which features are the most “wanted” and should move to the top of our development queue.

  • Join the Conversation: Every suggestion has a comment section. Use this to expand on ideas, suggest alternative ways to implement a feature, or simply give a “thumbs up” to a fellow spotter’s vision.

  • Track Real-Time Updates: No more wondering “if” or “when.” You can now track the status of suggestions. See what is Planned, what is currently In Progress, and celebrate with us when a feature is marked as Completed.

How to Get Started

Getting involved is easy. Simply log in to your SpottingLog account and navigate to the new Suggestions area on your dashboard.

  1. Browse existing ideas to see if your thought has already been shared.

  2. Upvote the ones you love.

  3. Submit your own if you have something fresh to add!

Our Commitment to You

Our goal has always been to bring aircraft spotting into the 21st century with the most secure, user-friendly, and data-rich platform available. By launching this Suggestions area, we’re making a promise to stay a listen-first and community-driven project.

The next great SpottingLog feature is currently in your head—we can’t wait to see it on the board!
